Original Oil Painting Fish and Chips

Fish and Chips

12" x 12"
Sold

This was a fun painting. I used my palette knife quiet a lot, scrapping and dabbing. I enhance the colors on the fish and background. Sometimes an artist has to play!

Original Oil Painting Geraniums and Apples

Geraniums and Apples

16" x 20"
Painted on stretch canvas.

Here is my final painting! I added a small red petal on the right to help balance the large apple on the far left. I put in speed bumps in the middle of the table cloth, no more straight path to the bottom. I also darken the bottom of the red apple in the background on the left to add a little more shape. Then I glazed over the left table leaf to darken it with olive green. Lots of little tweaks and a better photo, yeah!

IS IT DONE??   I will let you know. I am taking a break and will look at it tomorrow.

Original Oil Painting Ruby Peony

Ruby Peony

Sold

12" x 12"
Painted on gessobord

This is the painting I am currently working on. I am happy with everything but the background. I will let it dry and try adding glazes, maybe lighten the right corner? There comes a time where I need to step away from a painting and come back to it later. This is one of those times. When painting becomes more like work than fun, it is time to take a break.

Today I put the final touches on. I added glazes to the background, added a few extra leaves on the right and dropped the highlight value on the green leaves coming out of the vase. Now I am happy and I hope you can see the difference between the last picture I posted. (There is a picture of it right below.) Thanks for viewing my Ruby Peony!

Original OIl Painting Walking and Talking

Walking and Talking

12" x 12"
Painted on gessobord.

I finished my painting. I cleaned up some colors that were muddy. I also worked on the street adding a little more variety of greys, darker greys and working with my brushstrokes. I am now happy, it is not so boring.

The painting below was posted yesterday. It is muddy in spots and the street needs a make over.
