12" x 12"

Painted on gessobord.

These are some golden daisies that came up with my petunias this year. I did not intentionally plant them. They must of been tagging along with the petunia plants I bought. What a nice surprise and that is what painting should have. I am always looking for happy little surprises with the brush strokes. Finding hits of color here and there in my still life and playing with them. Thanks for viewing my painting and I hope you find surprises in your day, too!

Original Oil Painting Harvey's Bloody Mary

Harvey's Bloody Mary

We had a little get together a couple of weeks ago and my brother in law, Harvey was kind enough to serve his " Bloody Mary's ".  Harvey also brought some of his brother Bobbie's canned mushrooms. Since I am not a Bloody Mary drinker, I decided to take photos with the help of my niece, Amy. It was quite a family affair. Unfortunately Harvey had to wait to drink his because we were taking many photos with different compositions and lighting. This is the results! Thanks Harv for being such a good sport and letting me photograph your drink!

Original Oil Painting Strawberry Splits Melon

Strawberry Splits Melon

Sold

10" x 10"

Painted on gesso panel.

I painted this from a still life in the studio. The glass is my son's but the fruit is mine. I really like how the glass reflects everything around it. The bottom of the glass has a circular pattern that shows through the curved smooth glass. I found this very interesting to paint.

The title came from the idea of rock, paper, scissors but this time it was glass, melon, strawberry.
